Samarium-Cobalt Pot Magnets
Despite the fact that the Samarium-Cobalt magnets have steel pot, there is no protection against radiation of magnetic power.
Therefore Samarium-Cobalt magnets cannot be constructed in steel without further consideration. A precondition for building in steel is that the distance the steel element and the pot magnet are between 1.5 and 6 mm, depending on the size of the pot magnet.
Samarium-Cobalt pot magnets can be used at temperatures up to 200 degrees C, and after then the magnetic power is reduced by 15-20% It will be re-established as soon as the temperature has decreased to room temperature again.
The magnetic power of the Samarium-Cobalt pot magnet is 5 times higher than that of a ceramic pot magnet. They are also more resistant to strong, varying fields. Samarium-Cobalt magnets are often used in spot welding machines and in very small machines, which demand a strong magnetic power.
The Samarium-Cobalt pot magnets can be recognised by their white colour on the magnetic side.
